Day 1: Arrival in Udupi – Divine Beginnings

Arrive in Udupi, the spiritual heart of Karnataka’s coast. Check in to your hotel and freshen up before heading to the famous Udupi Sri Krishna Temple. Watch the rituals through the nine-holed window, a unique tradition that draws pilgrims from across India. Visit the Anantheshwara Temple nearby, steeped in mythology and ancient architecture.

Later, explore the bustling Car Street for temple sweets, souvenirs, and street-side snacks like goli baje and neer dosa. Enjoy dinner at a traditional coastal eatery serving authentic Udupi cuisine, rich in coconut and local spices. Tip: Wear modest clothing and remove footwear before entering temple premises.

Day 2: Malpe Beach & St. Mary’s Island Excursion

After breakfast, head to Malpe Beach, known for its clean sands and laid-back vibe. From here, take a short ferry ride to St. Mary’s Island, a geological marvel with its unique hexagonal basalt rock formations. Enjoy a peaceful walk, collect seashells, and click great photos of the rocky coastline. Return to the mainland by afternoon and enjoy a seafood lunch at a beachside shack. Spend the evening at leisure on Malpe Beach, indulge in water sports or simply relax watching the sunset. Later, head back to Udupi. If you’re interested, catch the evening aarti at the Krishna Temple before enjoying a quiet dinner and rest.

Day 3: Udupi to Murudeshwar via Maravanthe

Check out after breakfast and start your drive to Murudeshwar. En route, stop at the picturesque Maravanthe Beach where the highway runs between the Arabian Sea and Souparnika River—a perfect photo stop. Continue the journey with views of coconut groves and fishing villages.

Arrive in Murudeshwar and visit the towering Shiva statue and cliff-top temple overlooking the sea. Climb the Raja Gopura via elevator for panoramic coastal views. Lunch at a nearby local restaurant is recommended for fresh fish thali. Spend the evening walking along the shore or browsing temple markets. Stay overnight at a beachfront hotel.

Day 4: Murudeshwar to Gokarna

After breakfast, drive south to Gokarna, a town where spiritual tradition meets beachside tranquility. On arrival, visit the sacred Mahabaleshwar Temple and take a dip at the temple beach—believed to be purifying. Then explore the vibrant town lanes lined with cafes, yoga shalas, and souvenir shops. In the afternoon, trek or take an auto to Om Beach. Its shape, resembling Om, makes it a favorite spot for peaceful sunsets and simple beach cafés. Try local seafood or continental cuisine at Namaste Café. Spend the evening on the beach and stay overnight in a coastal guesthouse or resort.

Day 5: Departure from Gokarna / Transfer to Hubli or Goa

Start your day early with a final beach walk or short visit to Kudle Beach. After breakfast, check out and proceed to your departure city. Transfers can be arranged to Hubli (150 km) or Goa (140 km) depending on your onward travel plans.
